Profile Info:
- * Do I need to complete all the questions on the registration form / profile?
- Many of the fields are optional, only the fields with a red asterisk are mandatory to fill out. It is advisable to complete most of the questions in order to supply prospective staff with comprehensive information concerning your organisation.
- * How long does it take for our profile to appear online?
- Once payment is finalised, all profiles are moderated for quality assurance and available within 24 hours, for your convenience staff selection can commence immediately.
- * Can I update the Profile at any time?
- Yes, you can update your Profile as many times as you like with no additional charges.
Annual Fees:
- * What is the annual registration fee?
- We keep things simple at ETA, one flat registration fee for all educational facilities. We do not cap your usage or charge by successful appointment. Refer to the Fee Schedule.
- * Do I pay one annual fee to register or are there other costs?
- One annual fee is all you pay to register. There are no other costs. Your profile will remain active for one year from the date of registration and we will send you a friendly reminder to renew for the following year.
- * Can my organisation use one registration to service multi-campus centres?
- No, each campus must be registered individually.
Micro Quick Profile:
- * What is a Micro Quick Profile?
- It provides you with a summary of the candidate’s work experience, qualifications and availability. It also allows you to add to your favourites list. A comprehensive candidate profile is available by clicking the Micro Quick Profile twice. More importantly it provides staff with immediate contact details of your organisation’s personnel and melway reference for their convenience.
- * What is the difference between the Micro Quick Profile & Teacher / Childcare Staff Profile?
- A Micro Quick Profile provides you with a summary of the candidate’s work experience, qualifications and availability. It also allows you to add to your favourites list. A Teacher / Childcare Staff Profile is a comprehensive candidate profile available by clicking the Micro Quick Profile twice.
- * What will the Teacher /Childcare Profile show me?
- By viewing this comprehensive resume you will be able to source details about the candidate’s qualifications, work experience and also provides instant referee contacts. It is your responsibility to check online credentials and current registration.
Notification Info:
- * What is the Job Notification system?
- This function allows you to send out multiple online job offers through the ETA website to qualified staff that are waiting to receive your Job Offer Notification email. You can offer the one position to one or more candidates chosen from your favourites list. Selected staff are alerted via email of the casual vacancy. A Job Acceptance Response email will be sent back by the candidate. A Job Confirmation Response email will then be sent by you notifying the successful candidate that they have been awarded the position.
- * How does the Job Notification system work?
- A standard Job Offer Notification template message will be forwarded by you to the selected candidate/s via the ETA website. The candidate/s will reply by writing “Job Acceptance Response” and their full name in the “subject” area of the reply email, e.g.. Job Acceptance Response – John Smith-Maths / Science.
You will continue the email chain and reply to the successful candidate with “Job Confirmation Response” and the name of your school/childcare centre in the “subject” area, e.g.. Job Confirmation Response – Universal College. This confirms the booking with the successful applicant.
- * Why must I continue the email chain when communicating and sending Job Offer Notifications?
- The email chain is evidence that you have followed ETA’s process, therefore if any party does not uphold their obligation, a transcript exists to verify the sequence of events. This is essential if lodging a complaint with ETA’s administrative body.
- * What happens after I receive a Job Acceptance Response email from the candidate?
- You need to send a Job Confirmation Response email to the successful candidate by changing the “subject” area in the reply email to “Job Confirmation Response – name of your school / childcare centre”. This confirms the booking with the successful applicant.
- * Can I send multiple job notifications?
- Yes. You can offer the one position to one or more candidates by sending multiple notifications and rewarding the first response or preferred staffing option with the position.
- * What is the main advantage of the favourites list?
- By creating a favourites list you have prepared a priority selection of staff to be utilised when required, instead of conducting separate searches each time. Save yourself time by employing staff with proven experience and professionalism.
- * When potential candidates reply to me, where are the emails sent? Do I need to check the ETA website?
- Emails are sent to your nominated email address as listed on the registration form. You do not need to check the ETA website for any emails.
- * Will prospective staff be able to contact me directly?
- Yes. Registered ETA members can contact you via email, phone, fax or sms, only after confirmation of booking.
Performance and Reporting:
- * What is the staff Performance Rating system?
- This function shows a summary of the staff member’s performance whilst employed with any registered organisation through ETA. Evaluation of a candidate’s performance at the end of their contract is optional. Used in conjunction with the Online Reference report, this feature allows you to make informed decisions for your organisation and offers you an opportunity to give feedback about the candidate based on your experiences.
- * What is an Online Reference report?
- Functioning like a written reference, the Online Reference report is online and available for you to view immediately. It offers to you an opportunity to give feedback about the candidate based on your experiences and provides the ultimate service in assessing the best candidate available for your organisation’s specific requirements.
- * Am I required to complete the Performance Rating / Online Reference feature every day?
- No. Your professional judgement and discretion can determine how often you complete this feature. You may decide to complete this component after a suitable trial period in order to gain an accurate evaluation of services rendered.
- * What is the VCE / HSC Specialist Teacher Service?
- This service is designed for employing specific subject qualified teachers to specialist subject areas especially to accommodate Year 11 & 12 educational requirements. At Emergency Teachers Australia we promote the expectation of a high standard education. Our VCE / HSC Specialist Teacher Service allows you to fill long term and short term appointments and is available as an optional search feature.
- * What is the Job Listing Service?
- This service allows you to advertise full time, part time, ongoing or contract positions available throughout the year. It is a complimentary service saving you time and money advertising or recruiting elsewhere.
Registration:
- * Does ETA check qualifications and current teacher registration?
- No, it is your responsibility to check credentials and current registration.
- * Can I appoint one of your candidates to one of our full time, part time, ongoing or contract position?
- Absolutely. We offer the highest quality staff that are not bound by contracts to ETA.
- * Can I source staff via proximity to school / childcare centre?
- Yes, by selecting the state then the region your school belongs to, all the available candidates will appear.
- * Is it essential to post my photograph on your website?
- Your photo is optional however it does assist staff to recognise you from all the other employees in the organisation. Casual staff will be contacted for work on short notice and your photograph creates a sense of familiarity, self assurance and professionalism for a comfortable transition into your work culture.

- * What can I do if a candidate does not respond to my email or does not turn up for the job?
- Go to “Contact Us” and report it to ETA’s administrative body.
